I took Mr. Haywood's Human Communication class. He made every class entertaining and is very funny but don't let that fool you because he is very strict when it comes to grading your speeches. In addition, all speeches you present he records you! He's a stickler when it comes to the 3 absences and you're out so try not to miss his class.

Professor Haywood is an absolute icon at Mercer!! He is amazing and such a down to earth guy and really cares about what hes teaching. He will always go out of his way to help you and make sure you pass. If youre like me I had bad anxiety about giving a speech in front of the room I shakes and he helped me overcome my fear of public speaking!

Comment:

I took the Intercultural Communication Course with Haywood and it was genuinely the greatest course in college. He was inspiring, taught heavy subject matter in an open, honest forum, and fostered thoughtful discussions among the class. I love that man truly from the bottom of my heart. Best professor there is at Mercer.

Professor Haywood was and remains one of my favorite professors. He is amazing as a person and as a mentor. He truly takes the time to get to know you and to make sure that you gain something from taking his class. He is always available to help you out and is able to be serious and humorous. Taking his class is the best decision I've made.

A true MCCC legend. Haywood cares. That seems simple, but it means so much to students. His class was amazing and he knows what he's talking about. I love this man! He doesn't take disrespect and he expects a lot out of you, but it is all out of love. Take him if you can. Seriously.

I love Professor Haywood. Take him for public speaking. Even outside of class, he impacted my life and he became a very close friend to me, even after I left the class. He's extremely popular, kind, caring, and friendly. He's the greatest and you have to take him, otherwise you're missing out. Also, the best class I took at MCCC.

Professor Haywood is by far the best professor i have ever had. He is hilarious and will have you laughing all class but when it comes time to teach he is very serious. He truely cares about his students and always went that extra step to help out anyone who needed it. I am very thankful for my experience in his class and all that he did for me.

The best professor I have ever had. His class can is fun but at the same time when it's time to get serious, it's time to get serious. He's willing to help and actually takes the time to know each student. He makes going up in front of the class more comfortable and easy. As long as you're willing to put in the work, you will succeed.

Professor Haywood is an amazing, life-changing professor. Do not miss the chance to take him. Be prepared to take his class seriously but he will open your mind and become a mentor to you if you put in the effort to see him in office hours. This man is an AMAZING PERSON. But, be prepared to work and get pushed in a good way. He will give you his all to help you on public speaking as long as you give him your all, and he recognizes everyone's strengths and weaknesses and is an amazing person helping you conquer them. Amazing person 10/10 relaxed environment just be ready work hard.

I took him for public speaking and it was the best class i ever had. Prior to taking it, i was scared of the outcome since i am not a fun of public speaking. I do not regret taking his class and i can sincerely say he is the best Professor i ever had. He is willing to help all his students and honestly seems to care. Would definitely take again.

Professor Haywood has a unique way of teaching, relating and engaging the class. You'll find that he's not only a professor but he's also a mentor, counselor, adviser and can become a good friend. He has a certain vernacular that enables him to be forthright but not offensive with students. Be prepared to work but have fun while doing so !!

Absolutely amazing!! I was terrified to take a public speaking class, hand shaking, heart racing, passing out type of fear. But, Professor Haywood makes you feel comfortable and makes the class more importantly a safe environment for every student! AMAZING!!! If I could take another class with him, I would! I don't care if you fear public speaking, because I know this Professor will walk you through that. He is so caring, and he makes it a priority to have a comfortable class environment. There can be a challenge for many, but there is a balance. I miss this man already.
