She's a great professor! She always emphasizes that your understanding comes first; if you need a bit more time to get with her and ask questions about homework, she is willing to be a little flexible with due dates. Always answers questions well. Syntax is hard, but her lectures and feedback on exams/homeworks made it much easier to understand!

Syntax was a very difficult class. However, Professor Vance made it so much easier to succeed because of her office hours. She explains things clearly in class, but syntax is something that needs to be explained more than once. You'll do super well if you take advantage of how available she is. Tough assignments and tough exams

Great professor! Isn't afraid of being a little off track of syllabus if discussion is valid and needed. Fair grading and explains everything well. Very genuine and caring about your success in the class. Would highly recommend any class she teaches.

Awesome professor. Her class is really interesting although confusing at some times. She will always explain in english when people are super confused. I definitely recommend taking her class. She's super nice and a great professor.

Vance is really disorganized; the class had almost no structure, even though she taught STRAIGHT from the textbook. She often had problems understanding what we were asking her or just didn't know how to answer us. The grading was really picky and specific.

She is a great teacher who cares about her students and wants them to get the best grade possible. Unfortunately I had her for a very boring class, which she structured poorly. If she were teaching a class besides advanced grammar I would recommend her for anyone. If you take her F313 class, you will have to do a lot of teacing yourself!
