Dr. Ritchey is my favorite professor at AU (I'm a senior). He is an absolute genius, always prepared for class, hilarious, and more than willing to assist any student at their convenience. Dr. Ritchey is definitely not easy, but you can still receive a good grade.

Getting older, but he is a great professor. Has some great stories and tells them often to illustrate complicated business models. Works hard to keep students awake and wanting to learn and always willing to help

Comment:

I found the class quite easy in structure, though there is room to struggle with the material. However, if you fill out the workbook before each test he'll give you a practice test that is very similar to the test and he'll grade it and teach you the material you haven't mastered. He's always glad and available to answer questions.

He is a nice guy but very hard...It is supposed to be a easy class and he turned it into something that was really challenging. If you want to get a good grade you have to studied at least an hour a night...just looking over your notes won't cut it. If you don't like reading then don't take his class, you will struggle, stay away!

Avoid at all costs. I was stupid and took Ritchey for Macro, he is ten times harder than any other professor. He is an extremely intelligient man and works under the principal it is best when some people fail. He holds unrealistic expectations for his students to study hours upon hours for his class. I recieved an A but it wasnt worth the stress.

If today were opposite day, I'd have to say that I loved this class. I loved it so much, I only went to 3 sessions all semester. : ) But seriously...he is a cool prof. Funny...always telling jokes (funny or not). Whatever...ECON SUCKS.

Amazing prof teaching a bad subject. Prof. Ritchey is one of the most knowledgable professors on our campus. If you're taking econ, he's tough, but make sure he's your prof!

Dr. Ritchey may be a bit hard, but he knows his stuff. He will make Economics (Macro and Micro) both interesting and challenging. He really wants the student to learn, which is rare these days, and has a heart for teaching.
