An amazing person that is very intelligent and knows what he is talking about. He does want everyone to participate which is nice. Make sure you look over the vocab words and practice test questions from each chapter in the book before the exams.

Dr. Marlett is one of the kindest people I know. He truly cares about his students and is very passionate about what he does. His class is not difficult as long as you show up and pay attention. He offers extra credit opportunities and is willing to work with students who need help. His class is my favorite class I have taken in college by far!

Dr. Marlett is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He is so passionate about his students and so knowledgable about the industry. The work load is reasonable and he is constantly available for help. People complaining about this class clearly just weren't willing to put in any work. It's not hard, do the work, and enjoy his awesome class.

Dr. Marlett is one of the toughest professors I have had. But, it is worth it. He brings in insurance experts into class so you can witness how the material is applied in the real world. He also is very caring and will meet with you outside of class. He also offers 4 to 10 extra credit points each test. However, the tests are very challenging.

Dr. Marlett is a great professor. As long as you put in the work you will be fine. His exams are not too difficult if you study. He will have guest speaker events that you should attend if you can. You will leave his class with practical knowledge that you can use for the rest of your life. FIN-3100 was a worthwhile elective.

Professor Marlett is a good dude. If you are reasonably intelligent and do the work youll do well but if not you might take the L. He gives you all the resources you need and although the proctoring can be annoying to work with at times, it is completely reasonable.

Dr. Marlett's class is one of the most difficult classes I have taken. Be prepared to read 10-20 articles a week, show up to class, and memorize the lecture material if you want to do well in his class. While I did learn a lot about insurance, I felt that Dr. Marlett could have made it a little easier. On the plus side, he gives ample extra credit.

Taking his class online is easily top 3 worse decisions in my life. The amount of information that you need to be responsible for leading up to each test is absurd. 20-30 slide powerpoints, 2 hour lectures, and 5-10 articles EACH chapter. Also does not help that he uses the most strict yet buggiest test proctoring application. AVOID HIM IF POSSIBLE

Don't take this class online with him! If you work, have other classes you need to take, or do not like the idea of being recorded on every exam, don't take him! You will be recorded taking the exam, will have 50 questions to answer within 60 minutes, & the program used to record you is a pain. He doesn't seem to bad, but his online class is rough!

You would think that someone with a Ph.D. would have common sense. Nope, this guy proves that a college education doesn't make you smart. He teaches his opinions and tests on things not covered in class.

Dr. Marlett is by far one of the nicest professors I have ever had. PARTICIPATE, it is 10% of your grade. Makes the class interesting. You will learn a lot regardless of whether you are interested in insurance or not. Typically gives around 3-6 extra credit points one exams if you attend guest speakers. HE IS THE BEST.

Marlett is a great professor! His exams were not the easiest, but if you put forth the effort in his class, you can definitely pull out an A. No homework. Your grade consists of four exams, including a non-cumulative final, a group presentation, class participation. He made the material very interesting even when the material was very dry.

To put it quick, Marlett is the man. He is a super chill guy and can make some dry insurance type lectures pretty interesting. He takes attendance every class and it's a part of your grade. The content seems simple but his tests are definitely tricky so take them serious. He definitely bumped me up from an A- to an A bc of participation.

Dr. Marlett is a good teacher and a very nice guy but his class is extremely hard. Most of your grade is based off four long and difficult tests. If you need an easy cob elective do not take this class.

I really liked Dr. Marlett as a teacher, but I do not like insurance at all, so this class was really boring for me. His tests are not extremely difficult, but there is tons of information to memorize, making them difficult for someone who is not good at memorizing. The teacher is good, though, and makes it clear what you have to study.

Definitely made this class bearable. He takes participation and attendance a bit serious you can only miss 2 classes. Make sure you participate. Tests are not too bad but if you don't go to class your screwed because he has guest speakers and makes test questions based on what speakers say.

Straightforward, INTERESTING, and very helpful guy; practically no homework, one fairly simple group presentation (not terribly stressful), attendance mandatory but flexible if you have legitimate reasons for needing to be out; usually offers an opportunity for a couple of easy extra credit points on tests and throws out a question or a few.
