I hated Dr. Bowman. Don't get me wrong his stories are great but he tells them way too many times. His tests for me were hard. His study guides are not helpful. He DOES NOT respect his students. I will never take him again. I do not recommend taking him if you are a bad test taker. The grade is just tests and attendance.

I actually didnt like him. He was pretty rude when asked questions and CLEARLY didnt like women. He actually locked me out of the classroom because I got sick during class. If you willing to put in the hard work and swallow your pride then I guess your ok. You are basically teaching yourself because only tells stories not go over material.

Comment:

Dr. Bowman was my favorite professor at WIU. I had him three consecutive semesters in a row and I'm so glad I did because he was the reason I did not transfer to another university. He is a great reference if one is looking for a job in the law enforcement field. As long as you do the work like he wants, you will not only pass, but get an A.

Dr. Bowman is a good professor. I did well on everything he does. Attendance is mandatory. Only complain I have is there are many times I feel he did not respect all of his students very much. He doesn't always give the respect he wants in return.

Bowman was okay. His class was boring at times. He is pretty easy. I did all the take home exams and receive A's on all three. You have to write at least 9 or more pages and use outside answers to get a good grade. Other than that, his class is easy.

Dr. Bowman was a good professor who was relatively fair among his students. If anyone were to ever take this class, take the essay exams! They may be lengthy and broad questions, but it's better than taking a scantron test by a long shot. Also, the lectures are boring, but he likes to focus on real life examples (which are pretty funny).

Awesome professor! Make sure you do the essay questions as they are easier than the 50 multiple questions. There are 10 essays per test so expect to write at least 15+ pages for an A but he gives you about 2 weeks 1/2 to do them. Last two weeks of the semester is spent on speakers who come in to talk about their different fields.

Bowman is tough, but fair, and at the end of the sememester hes not as strict, attendance is required but he lets u be 3 times absent w/out penalty, having textbook will help u, class is 1 group presentation (easy) 4 test, u have option of take home paper, or mult choice for 3 of them, i hated the take home, got D's but the mult choice is fine

Best part of this class, NO TESTS! But you have to do 6 papers, not that hard in reality. Class is interesting and he has some funny stories and definitely knows his stuff. Bowman is a good guy to get to know. There is a book, but no point in getting it.

This guy is tough, all he ever talks about is republican theology and really gets annoying after a while. Tests are right from slides, but he words the test questions hard. I definitely wouldn't take hime again

Dr Bowman has a HUGE BRAIN of knowledge for police administration. 4 exams with one group presentation, which is easy. exams are a little tough, but study and you'll be fine. The 3rd exam is take home essay. easy.

Dr. Bowman has extensive experience in the Illinois State Police. Give 4 tests and drop the lowest grade. Also there is one group project,which he grades somewhat easy. Overall not a difficult clas and a possibility og getting an A.
