Ok, so she gives reading every night and it's all articles. Doesn't take long but you have to do them to participate in class. She cares about her students and gives tons of feedback on your essays, sometimes too much feedback. Expect feedback 5 paragraphs long... She means well but she's eccentric and that turns some people off. She makes you work

The worst professor I've had in my entire college career. The class was dreadful, the assignments annoying, and the overall experience unproductive and almost damaging. Blechhh

She wants you to write in her own way. She's helpful and nice, but if you have a writing style she doesn't like, she'll grade you down for that.

The first day of class she said that she only gives out A's if you can write better than her. I was deceived by the previous comments. She is not an easy A. You have to go to office hours A LOT to get a good grade in this class. Do not buy the textbook, you can find the readings online for free. She is a good teacher, however, not an easy grader.

Professor LaForge will give you an easy A if you show effort and improvement from the first draft of your first essay to the last raft of your last essay. She is a kind lady with a lot of life experience and funny stories. She is not intimidating at all. She gives helpful advice on essays, but her questions can be a little hard to answer. Take her!

Doesn't mind if you miss class. She makes you think about your writing and it helped me a lot. No need to do the reading. She does ask questions on your essays that are really hard to respond to; wasn't always sure what she wanted. Quirky but a really nice lady.

She is a very helpful teacher. She gives a lot of comments on your essays and a large majority of your grade is revision. She picks great readings!! They're all short stories that are extremely interesting. It is hard to tell exactly what she wants from you at times, especially in the beginning but overall I would take her again.

She likes to give a lot of busy work. We spent several classes emphasizing the same point. She likes group work a lot. She's helpful with papers and comments A LOT on them. There's a total of 5 papers and a group magazine at the end. She's not terrible but I wouldn't choose to take her again.

She made everything so clear and cared how her students were doing. She went out of her way to give us time whenever we needed them. She's a fantastic teacher, who made a typical boring class, exciting.

She's a good teacher in the sense that she'll take the time to really look over and comment on your papers. A litlle quirky, but interesting. The only problem I had at first was trying to figure out what she wanted, once you know what she's looking for it's an easy class.

LaForge is very very political. You must be a die-hard liberal to get out of this class with an A. Bush supporters get B's so watchout.Although the class is supposed to be writing based, it is more of a workshop politics class, and not that hard. She is a cool lady, a little crazy, but too into politi

Professor LaForge doesn't enjoy teaching. She overemphasizes group work and teaches as little as possible. She is also radically left wing. Avoid her if possible, hunker down if you can't.

Prof. Laforge is really thorough. She finds all mistakes in essays and seriously spends a lot of time on them and fills every inch of your work with comments. Makes you think. My writing improved a lot. She really cares about her students.
