Comment:

VO makes an effort to connect with his students and had office hours every week day to do so. He was a tough grader on our speeches, but if you utilize the rubric and discussions with him, you can do well in the course. The quizzes and exams were pretty doable as long as you paid attention in lecture and at least skimmed the textbook.

Comment:

VO is a great professor. His class is far from an easy A, but that was to be expected in a speech-heavy class. I came into his class nervous, and he was able to help me get out of my comfort zone with public speaking. The textbook is used for quite a few notes, but overall hes a great teacher, even if sometimes the workload seems like a lot.

Professor VO is a really great guy who cares about all of his students. He has a mid-term and final that are open note and around 36 questions. I did not do great on these exams, but I did the extra credit and did well on my speeches. He is a tough grader on our speeches which led me to almost receiving an AB in the class.

I absolutely loved having VO my first semester freshman year. It is true that he's a tough grader when it comes to speeches, but both the midterm and exam are open note, open book, and you can use any resource on canvas (all of the slideshow/lecture notes are on there). He puts in an effort to know everyone and make everyone feel comfortable.

VO is a great professor, and an even better person! He made CST 110 really enjoyable, and definitely stands out for me. He communicated with the class and myself in a really genuine and caring way. Most professors really don't care that much and do what needs to be done, but VO always went the extra mile to make sure I felt welcomed and understood!

Wonderful man! He is so caring if you care. Be open with him, he is very reasonable and kind to the students that want to be there. This class created a family-like environment. Don't worry if you are nervous to speak, he has many tools to help you succeed! An amazing and goofy guy.

VO was the best professor I had my first semester freshman year. Not only is he a very caring individual but he is always willing to help students improve. I was nervous about his class because of his reputation of being a tough grader but honestly, if you put forth a good amount of effort, an A is not too far-fetched. I would definitely recommend!

Great educator! You can tell he really enjoys his job and cares about the success of his students. He knows everyone's name by the first day, and goes out of his way to be accessible to you outside of class and to get to know you personally. The final and midterm exams are both open notes. He is a difficult grader, however. It's hard to get an A.

VO is a nice person but I definitely would not recommend him as a teacher. His class is much harder than any other CST 110 class, and his grading criteria is unclear. If you do take him, be prepared to put in a lot of work for very little payoff

I thoroughly enjoyed V.O's CST 110 class. He was one of the most caring professors and always put your success in front of everything else. He was always more than willing to help with anything you need. Right in the beginning, he had everyone get to know each other by name and that created a nice class environment. Take V.O for CST if you can!

Very funny and cares about his students. On the other hand, he is one of the tougher CST professors. If you want an A in this class your speeches literally have to be flawless. Way too tough of a grader. My friends who had CST with other professors didn't have half as much work as I did. Would not recommend for CST.

VO is the best professor I had freshman year first semester. He is really caring and wants each student to succeed. He is a tough grader, but helps you do exactly what you need to do to get a B or higher. Class is fun, and he makes them meaningful. I really enjoyed going to each class and loved my classmates and VO. Go to class and you'll be fine.

Had lots of fun in this class, he was a great professor. Gave good feedback, not much homework except for outlines for your speeches. One group speech at end. Helped everyone with their speeches.
