Grammar is very important! Fresh out of HS, second semester of college, this was the most important classes I ever took! Strict & concise grammar important, but exploration was encouraged! I will never forget my experience with Dr. King! It made a huge impact on my writing abilities! This professor will be very beneficial to you!

If you like to write, take her class, b/c she'll help you improve. She gives good constructive criticism & is pretty understanding. Advice: Read over her paper assignments in advance so you can ask her about her confusing directions (if not, you won't understand the assignment until the class before it's due). They tend to be a bit scatter brained.

One of the best English teachers I've ever had. She's brilliant, fun, and readily available to help students. She clearly loves to teach and loves her subject. Warning, though: this class is a LOT of work.

Comment:

The best English teacher at Montevallo, without question. She will help you immensely in your style as a writer with her critique of your papers, and she definitely brings the heat with literary theory. My first exposure to Postmondernism was in her class, and while I hate Derrida, I respected her for introducing new things. Loves Springsteen.
