He's a pretty stern professor but helps you with your concepts if you need help in the online exercises as well as in discussions and office hours. But if he catches you slacking in concepts, he will not outright tell you the answer. Come prepared if you want to do well in the exams and exercises.

He's very straight forward and if you listen to him, you'll do well in the class. If you're ever confused, he gives very good feedback and advice on how to move forward. Overall, a great professor who respects the advice student's give him on the course.

Mikko is very knowledgeable in architecture. His classes relied heavily on long and dense online lectures that he reviewed in class. He quizzes you on the online lectures. Group projects require a good amount of work and effort. He gives you opportunities to get extra credit to make up for the difficult projects. Good guy!

The prof is actually knowledgeable but he never taught this course before. The course is so unorganized. Monday quiz is a joke, working as merely a motivation for you to watch the super long lect video. The rest of class in the week just wandering with no idea what's going on. Midterm coding exam is another joke. Ask you to write SPI in 50 mins.

Prof. Lipasti is incredibly knowledgeable. Having him for a class was exceptional and knowing I was taught by one of the field's leaders was phenomenal. He knows how to put things very clearly and his online lectures are amazing. It's a very challenging class; he makes it clear that you must learn to teach yourself material. It's engineering!

Terrible professor. Takes no interest in students and makes TAs do all of the work. Did not actually ever teach us anything, but we had quizzes every week so it was necessary to teach yourself from the book. I probably would have done very poorly in this class if I didn't have a great TA

Awful. I use to think you had to be smart to be an engineer until I had him. He did not take interest in his students and made class boring. Also the majority of the class was based on group work. DON'T TAKE HIM

Pretty good professor. The amount of work he gave was closer to a 3 credit course. All homework assignments had to be done in groups. There was no cumulative final exam, which was nice, just 4 midterms. Exams are pretty easy if you know what you're doing.

His hw policy of working in groups was incredibly stupid, also the kind of work required which is equivalent to a 3-4 credit class.Never responded to e-mails and was only audible to the first 6 rows. However his exams were fairly easy. Nothing was new and the structure of the exam was similar to the sample.Easy exams but horrible in other things.

makes very elaborate drawings on the board as small as he can possibly write. most of the time you can not hear what he is saying. his homework policy is strange and overwhelming since it is only a 2 credit class. his exams were too long for the alotted time for the last 2 exams however his grading policy was curved very well

He has the most annoying homework policy ever. We were REQUIRED to work on homework in groups of three all the time so we could "make friends." This is a college course. We are not in 1st grade. Does not respond to student emails, discourages students from going to his office hours, makes TAs do all the work. If it weren't for the good TA's...

He's a very fair teacher and midterms are right on line with the material covered. Class moves at an easy to follow pace, but is so boring. He is a dry professor who talks in a monotone and appears bored with the subject. He is very knowledgeable however. I would recommend him, but not if you want a fun professor.

I am appalled that this professor has gotten so many high reviews. I think it's a stretch to even consider him a teacher. For one, he just reads us the book. He posts his "notes" online, except that they aren't his notes: they are chapter excerpts written by the textbook company. I would say more, but I am reaching the character limit.

Good professor in my opinion. He is able to make the most dull and boring topics if not entertaining, at least tolerable for each lecture. He does a good job making sure everyone understands the material before he goes to the next topic. The exams are very fair, do the practice exams and you will be fine in this course.

Lipasti is an all-around pretty good teacher but he isn't anything special on either side of the spectrum. He tends to do these very complex drawings of circuits that get a boring pretty quickly but just bring a newspaper or a laptop to entertain yourself.

Knowledgable on the subject. Quite responsive to student feedback on the class, and extremely fair. Lectures are not boring and dry, but are usually very interesting. His speaking manner is thoughtful, engaging, and terse. You can tell he'd rather be teaching a higher-level class, but it doesn't detract. Recommended.

He's a VERY good instructor! I think other professors could have made the material a whole lot harder than he did, but he made it clear as a bell. The tests and quizzes were fair. He's also pretty cute, and if that's not reason enough to take him I don't know what is. ;-)

True. And if a cook can't even make good rice, he probably can't cook anything more complex than rice any better. Would you go to a restaurant if the chef there couldn't even make RICE correctly?

rating a prof on how they teach 352 is like rating a cook based on how he makes rice.
