i took this class during summer 2014. first, there was no math tutor in summer. second, professor wouldn't help you if you don't understand some questions, well there was no assistant unless you already know everything of algebra. good luck :) finally I received B+ lol

She only bothered w/ the students who already knew the material. PIFKO does not know what it means to teach, have patience, or compassion. Went to her to obtain her signature to withdraw from her class she refused; malicious woman - very hateful and miserable. She deserves all that life has given and taken from her.

Comment:

She's an 'ok' teacher but I would not recommend her to anyone who struggles in math. She's not very helpful. I got an A+ simply by studying the material by myself. She is also very fast paced and does not allow you enough time to understand the material. If you are going to take her make sure you are willing to actually 'teach' yourself.

she is a great teacher!!! you must have a general concept of basic arithmetic in order to understand her material, but overall explains in depth the material and gives great examples. Be ready to work in this class!!!

Teaches the concept well but if you have any questions about the material, ask someone else. She does speed through the material very quickly. I got an A+ but I'm just good at math. A lot of other students were struggling and she seemed unwilling to help or listen.

Took her for Summer. Do not take her if you do not know Algebra inside and out. You will fail. Tells you to go to tutoring center and if you go to her, she asks you "what were you thinking?" She knows math but don't do it if you are counting on this class for anything else to proceed with your schooling.

Had Intmed. Alg. & Precalc. She is smart & knows how to teach. Definitely nice. I got a 76 on a test & when she gave it to me she said "I'm proud of you". Understandable. Didn't use book much but used MathXL all the time. Got an A in both classes. She tells u to go to tutors but for things like fractions when ur in precalc. THAT makes sense people.

She goes throught the class really fast. if you have any questions you have to ask after class. she can easily call you out if your having trouble in the class and even though you get a 95 on the final and show her on the final you know the material she wont pass you if you didnt do soo good throught the test.

worst teacher ever had I'm break it down I took her in fall of 2008 and failed now taking a new teacher and passing with a 94.5 average you be the judge she yell when she talks explain and is rude when you ask question i would give her a -10 on a scale of 1-10

This is one of the meanest teachers in Housatonic. She talks down to the students and if you ask a question 9 times out of 10 she's going to refer you to the tutor. She is very impatient with students.She believes that everything you have to learn in Pre calc you should have already learned and if you didn't learn it then you should drop her class.

A terrific professor. It was truly a pleasure to be in her class. I am not a math person, but I excelled under her tutelage. She is energetic, fun, and helpful. Also, she is highly intelligent, and not just about math. If you do the work, she will reward you. I am very happy with her and this course.

This is my third semester with this teacher, she is fantastic! Forget what other people are saying, her people skills are fine and she's the most engaging math teacher I've ever had. She does everything she can to help her students and she is MORE than fair.
