Dr. Saadein online is not that great. I know he is much better in person, but online, all we do is work on problems on his iPad, and asking questions is part of your grade (which isn't fair for many students that do not like asking or do not have questions). He grades exams so harshly-- do not recommend online.

I decided to take him because he had good reviews, but in an online setting, he is the absolute worst. All we do is go through problems, and he forces us to participate, which puts the shy students' grades at risk.

Orgo is easy plus his supportive and inspiring characteristics. The best class at Oxford Chem department so far. It paves the great foundation for upcoming 204 and 205.

Taking 203 with Dr. Saadein was a wonderful and transformative experience. His lectures built my understanding of organic chemistry from the ground up, and made me grow to really love the subject. He's also super caring, responsive, and understanding. 10/10 would recommend.

Dr. Saadein is an amazing professor. The course is challenging, but he will spend as much time with you as needed for your success. He is very funny and will tell little jokes throughout the semester. Take the time to know him. Write down everything he says in class and also read the textbook. The course isn't easy, but it is for sure doable!

One of the best lecturers on the entire campus. Organic is not an easy class, but he gives you every opportunity to shine and will do his best to help you pass, so long as you put in the work.

Great guy, great professor. Saadein cares about your grades and learning. He's a funny guy and makes the classroom feel very relaxed but still pushes us to succeed and motivates us to study harder. He's a character for sure, and if there were any professor I would take for orgo, it would be Saadein.

He's a really great professor and explains the concepts really well but you have to put in the work outside of class to be successful. He gives pop quizzes at least once a week. The difficulty rating is so high because orgo is a hard class but Saadein does the best job teaching it. He also encourages you to ask questions when you're confused

The entire class is based on how well you do on the tests. The rest of the grade (10%) is determined by quizzes. He really does a good job in breaking down the complex material and making it easier to understand, however you are held accountable and must review daily in order to succeed in the class Show an honest effort and put in an honest effort

Dr. Saadein is absolutely one of the kindest and most respected individuals on campus. Organic Chemistry is probably one of, if not the most difficult course at college, but he does a great job teaching it. He's organized, clear, and he adapts to the pace of the class. By far the best organic chemistry teacher at all of Emory!

Saadein is a great professor and it is much better to take Orgo here than in Atlanta. The class was tough just due to the curriculum, but he definitely makes it much easier to understand. He is also very nice and understanding and curves at the end of the semester, although the curve is unpredictable. And no final!

Favorite professor on campus! Of course Chemistry, or any science, is challenging, but Dr. Saadein makes it manageable. It's not bad at all as long you study and know what you're doing. He really is a very caring professor. Highly recommend you take him.

Comment:

The class was very challenging as I expected, but Dr. Saadein definitely made it manageable. He explained most concepts very clearly and made sure the class understood the material. He organized review sessions and moved the tests sometimes as well. In the end, he adjusts your grade, so that helps too. Great teacher - try to take him if you can.
