Comment:

weaknesses: slowly walks you through the textbook (per by example), however the mid-term(and presumably final) are complex problem solving 'write a script that does foo' type questions which is infrequently taught or tested in the course. He doesn't "require" attendance but only gives out the homework at the end of class. Overall "ok".

he knows a lot of the stuff, gets really exited when teaching what he used when he worked for companies (sgi, intel..) explains well, the only problem in this class are the systems used and the textbook, which are way too old, but the rest is pretty good

This professor is hard to understand at times and extremely rude! Ask a question and he'll embarrass you and his answer will not answer your question. I asked him to clarify one of his questions on his final, and he told me to go back and read the question again. As long as you show up and do the work, you should be fine.

i took a couple of classes with dr. sengupta. he is an excellent teacher and very enthusiastic about teaching. i'm not sure where people are getting rude and unprofessional from. he taught at santa clara university at some point. he is very helpful. i knew nothing about c programming and java when i took his class but got a's in both classes

Best teacher I had. He uses real world examples to make things simple. The exams are pretty tough, but if you do the HW they should know what to expect. I'm planning on taking more classes from him. He's really helpful and nice!

He is very rude, and insists you buy his book. He doesn't seem to like to teach, but he really understands his topics. Homework is ok, but tests are impossible. Most drop because there is no way to pass the tests, even if you study. He won't help you prepare for the test, he doesn't care if you pass

Excellent teacher, clear, organized. He teaches you several ways to do one thing ( great tips ). His classes are so clear and interesting, that you don?t even have to check the book to do your HW.
