Seriously, do yourself a favor, don't take her, for anything. Assignments are crazy hard and extensive. And its her way or the highway, if your opinion contradicts hers, then its wrong. I had her for Southern App Lit, hardest and worst class I've ever taken. Her voice drives me INSANE. Flee from this teacher at all costs!

While the course itself is somewhat interesting Dr. Lloyd seems to approach it with an almost "sloppy" manner. My worst issue though is the manner in which she treats students. Any questions regarding coursework are never clearly answered and it almost annoys her to answer anything.

This instructor should not be teaching English! She does NOT know how to grade (contradicts her own rubric). I've had several ENGLs, so i know my stuff....but upon transferring I had to take this. It's suppose to be basic lit! You literally have to dumb yourself down to get on the level she expects. Take someone else! Also has a rude demeanor.

English students may love this class as she assigns a LOT of reading and the three tests require a LOT of writing. However if your like me and taking this to satisfy a requirement avoid Lloyd. She goes by the department rule, 6 absences and you fail, can't skip class early either. She's one of the teachers that make gen Eds really suck

She assigns A LOT of reading for this lit class. An English major may appreciate the reading assignments, a gen ed student will not! Lit class consists of two three in detail writing exams, weekly reading quizzes, and two 1500 word papers. Dr. Lloyd is nice and helpful, the course material is just dry and boring.

Her class is semi interesting, but she's not clear on anything at all. I received a C+ on a project where she claimed I had nothing that she expected. Her rubric had nothing that she asked for on my final paper. Also, when asked she beat around the bush on every single question. I've lost respect for her as a teacher.

I understand that in American Literature, you would expected to read quite a bit, but heed my word, there is GOBS of endlessly boring reading for this class. She has the most obnoxious accent and is sort of ill if you need help. Unless you are an english nerd, find another professor for this course.

Overall interesting material, but on a personal level she is rather unkind. She assigns a great deal of reading which can be taxing for students who have an occupation or just aren't obsessed with the subject matter. Don't expect an A unless you are all about the class.

I had Dr. Lloyd for Southern Appalachian Literature. She is very knowledgeable but expects a great deal from students. If you don't read, she knows it: she asks almost every student a question in every class daily that pertains to the reading. Several small papers, one large paper. Watch your absences and do your readings - you should do well.

Not really sure what I think of her. Some days class was good, other times she was pretty mean. The material covered was interesting though, and she really knows her stuff. She can be a difficult grader, but will help you bring grades up if you talk to her about papers.

She will brighten your day with her country accent and ear to ear smile. She knows alot about App., but sex, african americans, and gays is all you read about in there. She is a hard grader when it comes to papers. We have done 5 short papers and one big paper. BEWARE she will call you out in class to respond to something or to give your thoughts.

Terrible. She has the most obnoxious accent in the world. The class was organized poorly (1st time it was offered) and she took this to mean that she could talk about whatever she wanted. She assigns WAY TOO MUCH READING.

If you want to take the most boring class in the entire world take Lloyd. Watching paint dry would be more fun. Her tests are extremely unfair and she HAS THE MOST ANNOYING ACCENT in the world. I will NEVER take her again. Ever.

the typical reading assignment took an hour and a half to read, and it could be hard to understand. also she would give essay questions some days over the reading, and the correct answers are her interpretations not yours.

In Folklore, she gave one universal grade for group work. Because one of my members was late for class during our presentation, our grades suffered, though I and others worked our butts off on the project. Other than that, she's pretty cool.

She tends to babble on about things that don't pertain to the class. Her accent also kills me. Her class was not too easy, not too hard.
