Takahashi sensei is a very nice woman but she is not good with technology. If it wasn't for Zoom, she would be writing everything on the physical blackboard. Expect homework every night but it's based on what you learned during class so it's reinforcing the material. Same TB as JPAN 001 and 002, "NiponGO!"

She's so sweet at NCC. I should have put more effort in it. So much memorizing, but that's what it takes to learn a language. Expect homework every class day. She will check! You must buy the text. Awesome ppl, but some ppl know the language and come for the easy a. Those people are a888holes. Work on your own for this one.

I'll admit, her accent can be a little hard to understand sometimes, but I understand her explanations about the Japanese grammar fairly well. Besides, if you do the homework and memorize your kanji, you should do fine.

People....Unless you have a good understanding of language then I would say run for the hills. My entire class bombed the work. Unless you are one of those anime nerds or are really interested than I would say stick to a romance language. She was very confusing and vague.

She's an ok professor. She better to take for the higher levels because there's fewer people and you use a smaller class room. It's much more personable this way. She teaches straight from the book and doesn't assign extra credit. So study hard because the quizzes, midterm, and final are the bulk of the grade.

psycho. enough said. Very unwilling to help, very condescending. Follows a different syllabus than the rest of the department, so I joined her class for JAP2 and she was teaching stuff that required the knowledge of stuff I never learned. Gave three tests all semester, pass, pass, and bombed one = f. Incredibly unwilling to help,you're on your own.

one of the hardest classes i've ever taken. 95% of the class was below a "C" and she gave us very little help. the only extra credit she offered was one small assignment. her tests and quizzes try to cover too much at the same time, and she goes way too fast. she's very nice, but she expects too much from us.

To people who are complaining about her english, you're ridiculous. Her accent is easy to understand if you have just a basic concept of japanese pronunciation (which you should!) Overall very sweet and helpful only if you show interest in her class and do her work.

Not better than Fujimoto, just different. She is incredibly nice and works with you if you work with her. She is very unlikely to help if she sees you are not interested or doing work. Shes actually fantastic once you build a relationship with her. She will drill grammar and vocab and you will know a lot. She focuses less on speaking

She is a very sweet person, and she doesn't teach at a fast pace. She makes sure each person in the class has a chance to practice speaking and reading. Quizzes, Tests and her midterm weren't that hard. If you have any questions, be sure to ask them though, or else you might have a hard time understanding the material.

She is hard to understand, and doesn't help varry much. THe excuse you don't need to knew that yet should never be used in a college setting, if any setting at all. SHe also never answers questuns. I should have done much worse in that calss then I did, much worse.

Ive never had fujimotot and the only flaw I can see in takahashi is that she dosent answer your questions. The class is not that hard but she sometimes fails at being clear. but if she sees that you are putting effort into your work, she tends to give good grades.

Quite a change from fujimoto sensei. Her style is very different & her english is not as good. She did seem to be a little more personable in Jnp 4..like she was more comfortable. The pluses: She went over some more cultural aspects & we did some caligraphy which was fun.

Takahashi is so completely bad compared to Fujimoto who I had the first to semesters. She doesn't know English and she just doesn't seem to be personable.
